Who is Paige Bloom?
If only this little girl had the tools and awareness that I have now. Yep, that’s me on one of my first days of school and I was pumped.
Fast forward a few years and the brightness had faded. I was “doing” school, struggling to stay afloat, over-extended with managing my time and all my commitments, diagnosed with ADD, and perpetually exhausted. I was showing up for everyone else, and doing a damn good job at it- but at a cost. My father lovingly called me “a patient in search of disease”, because I was so depleted I was positive I had to be sick. But alas, what I needed was more than a personal day.
I was out of alignment. I didn’t know that my exhaustion, my scattered mind and my need to do and fix weren’t symptoms that I could heal with a trip to the doctor’s office and a prescription. These symptoms were showing up to guide me towards another way, other choices- towards more pleasure, satisfaction, ease and joy.
After completing all the “shoulds”, and graduating from a top tier university, I began my career as an educator (and coach, all while pursuing my masters degree). I no longer had the capacity or the desire to run on the treadmill, or take a HIIT class. I turned to a more restorative option and took my first yoga class. I was immediately hooked and so began my path. Yoga classes lead to quitting the gym and joining a yoga studio. I began meditating, and learning about the history of yoga and the sutras. I discovered mindfulness, as a tool for myself but also a beautiful strategy to help my students and fellow faculty members. I felt how valuable these practices were for me, and I knew I needed to make it my mission to share these ancient yet timeless techniques.
I began pursuing more formal trainings, from Reiki to Yin yoga, and was encouraged to continue my studies with a sabbatical to Bali and professional development trainings for becoming a mindfulness teacher. I was learning how to hone these skills myself, but also how to clearly share them in an easily digestable manner.
…Then I took the leap into a two year Ayurvedic Health Counselor certification. From there I learned how to tune in, decide what to choose by what feels good to me. It taught me how to say no and set boundaries without guilt. I learned how to use my nervous system responses to make choices for how I spent my time, and to create a beautiful daily routine that was nourishing and fulfilling. I learned the Ayurvedic principles that help guide me each day, even each moment, to continue to pursue a life of alignment, satisfaction and ease.
I now live in Denver, Colorado, with my hubs, son, my two cats, and our camper van. When I’m not working with clients I am up in the mountains hiking, camping, skiing or exploring different parts of the world. My life has definitely changed, but it has been done with intention, and an awareness of what I need, how I want to feel and with clear direction of who I want to be.
Mission
